The Blessing of Having BLU

To have a dog is truly a beautiful thing, and I absolutely love mine. She can definitely get on my nerves at times, but she brings me so much joy and love. Blu has a way of lifting me up when I’m sad, getting rowdy when I’m happy, and even getting frustrated with me when I leave her home. No matter what kind of day I’m having, she always seems to know how to make it a little better.

Dogs have such a special kind of loyalty. They love us unconditionally and remain by our side through the good days, the bad days, and everything in between. They have a way of bringing life and happiness into a household just by being there. Their playful personalities, funny little habits, and unconditional love can turn a house into a home.

I also believe dogs are much more observant than we sometimes give them credit for. They can sense people's energy and emotions. Have you ever noticed how a dog seems to know when someone doesn’t like them? Blu certainly does. She can pick up on someone's energy almost immediately, and sometimes her reaction tells me everything I need to know. Dogs may not be able to speak our language, but they communicate with us in so many other ways.

Blu came into my life at a time when I was mourning the loss of my baby, Gina. For those of you who don’t know, Gina was my other furry friend, and she passed away just short of her second birthday. Losing her was heartbreaking, and there was an emptiness in my life that was difficult to put into words. And then Blu came along and made her mark.

I truly believe she was a blessing at a time when I needed one most. She could never replace Gina, because every dog holds a special and unique place in our hearts, but Blu brought a new kind of love and happiness into my life. She gave me something to look forward to and reminded me that even after loss, our hearts can still make room for love.

The blessing is that Blu turned three this year on my mom’s birthday, March 18th. Every birthday feels like another reminder of how precious our time with our furry friends is. I’m grateful for every crazy moment, every cuddle, every laugh, and even those moments when she gets on my last nerve and I am sure I get on hers too.

I hope to spend many, many more years with Blu. She is more than just a dog—she is family, a source of comfort, a bundle of joy, and one of the many blessings in my life that I will never take for granted.

If you have a furry friend in your life, I pray you never take them for granted and cherish every moment you have with them.

Sending you love, light and positive vibes,

Cassie K
