Walk Away

There are times quiet and heavy when we realize a relationship we've been holding on to is no longer holding on to us. Maybe it's been slowly unraveling or all of the sudden you have clarity, but the truth remains: it no longer serves you in this stage of your life and that is enough.
We grow and we evolve and sometimes that means outgrowing people we once believed would be in our lives forever. It doesn't always come with betrayal or drama, sometimes the connections just wither away. The conversations no longer nourish you and the energy feels forced. At times you leave their presence feeling emptier than when you arrived. You are no longer at ease when you are around one another. I remember stepping away from a friendship a few years ago and it was so hard for me to let go. We had been rocking with each other since 2014. But I knew if I stayed it would cause both of us more harm than good. I cried myself to sleep many times over that dissolved relationship, but it had to be done.
Just know that staying in a relationship is not always about strength, sometimes it's based on fear. We have fears of being lonely. Or feelings of guilt because we are finally stepping away. Maybe we are afraid of starting over. But clinging to what's familiar just because it's what you've always known, can keep you small. We deserve to feel seen, supported, loved — not tolerated, dismissed or drained.
Just know that walking away isn't about giving up; it's reclaiming the peace you once had. It is choosing yourself and making you a priority. It's recognizing that loving someone doesn't always mean keeping them in your life. Believe me, it's okay. I can still love you from afar.
Letting go can be very painful - but staying in a relationship that is no longer reciprocating by feeding your soul is a slow kind of self-abandonment. One day, you will thank yourself for leaving when it would have been easier to stay.
If a relationship no longer serves your heart, your purpose or your growth, it's time to walk away.
You don't owe your past an explanation. You owe your future a fighting chance.
And one more thing, Happy Father's day to all you dads in your kids lives! God Bless you Always!
Sending you love, light and positive vibes,
