Love Is an Action Word — And You Showed Up
The Bible teaches us that love isn’t just a feeling — it’s action. And I’m so grateful to each and every one of you who loved in action by showing up for my birthday.
It’s been 10 days since I turned 50, and I’ve taken some time to reflect. This post is for all of you who celebrated me — whether you called, texted, sent a DM, gave a gift, posted on social media, or simply spoke my name in love. I see you. I feel it. And I am truly thankful.
What’s been most humbling is how many of you reached out — some I’ve never even met in person or online. Yet you still took the time to bless me. That speaks volumes. It reminded me that my life matters, that I’m a light in this world, even when I’m not physically present. That’s a powerful thing to carry into this next chapter.
A special thank you to my kids for planning an incredible surprise party. I was completely caught off guard—especially since I had already enjoyed a beautiful, intimate birthday dinner with family and felt totally content. But on Saturday, after spending the day with my sister Ila, I came home to a house full of love. Family, close friends, and even my daughter who flew in from the Bay Area—it was unforgettable. Life truly is amazing.
Turning 50 can be scary for some, but I’ve chosen to embrace it with open arms. I’m walking boldly into this new season — this shift that’s happening in my life. The second half? Oh, it’s about to be next level, baby.
As I mentioned in last week's blog, my kids no longer need me in the same way. And while that brings its own emotions, it’s also opened up space for me to rediscover me. I have a deeper appreciation now for the relationships that have endured, and for the new ones just beginning to blossom. I’m becoming more of who I’ve always been — and giving myself permission to embrace every part of that.
Truthfully, the months leading up to my birthday were heavy. I felt overwhelmed, even lost at times — like I was supposed to have it all figured out but had no idea where to begin. But then I had to stop and ask myself: Do we ever really have it all figured out? The answer? Absolutely Not. We’re all just learning, adjusting, and evolving as we go.
So if you’re reading this and you’ve been feeling stuck, unsure, or burdened — let this be your reminder: Keep moving forward. Be the change you want to see. The blessing begins with you and it flows from you.
To every single one of you who poured into me, in whatever way — I speak an overflow of God’s blessings over your life. May your cup never run dry. May you thrive in every area of your life. And may love — real, active, soul-filling love — continue to find you wherever you are.
Sending you love, light and positive vibes,
Cassie K.

That was heard and felt. Thank you for sharing your gift of words!
