2023 Reflections

Can you believe today is the last day of the year 2023? So many times, at the start of another year, people make New Year resolutions. And how many of those resolutions do we actually complete, or even start for that matter? Only you know what you wanted to accomplish this past year and how successful you were at doing it.  What I found interesting was Forbes put out a survey regarding 2023 resolutions and 45% of respondents said they wanted to improve their mental health, 39% wanted to improve their fitness goals, 37% wanted to lose weight and 33% cited improving their diets.  It's really wild because every year we make these resolutions and it would appear that people are stern in their convictions to succeed, and what most people are failing at is the commitment to stay consistent. A lot of the time people make these statements at the start of the new year, but they are not considering the "why" behind these modifications and the possibility that they aren't ready for said changes. I have always been taught that if you change your mind about something, you can change your life.  But the fact remains that most people didn't set their minds to change. The bible teaches us in Romans 12:2 to not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 8:6 says, the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace. The change starts with your mind!

As for me, I didn't make any New Year resolutions, I just wanted to accomplish goals. There have been many good and bad things that have happened over the past year. There were a lot of goals I wanted to reach, but I failed to reach some of them.  It was like I was in a short state of depression every time I lost someone I loved, unable to move past the sadness I felt. As a result of these losses occurring more than once, I found myself constantly digging myself out of despair. But thankfully by the grace of God and my determination I was able to push past the sadness and get back up and try again.  I am of the mindset that as long as I have breath in my body, I will continue to put one foot in front of the other and fight for the success I want to achieve. Each day I am blessed with, is a new chance to try again. I may have lost a lot, but I gained so much more.  Instead of focusing on the sad things, I choose to focus on the good ones too. I met so many beautiful people, made some connections in my city, started mentoring young girls who look like me and am getting closer to being found by the man God has for me.

Maybe you are reflecting, and you find yourself disappointed because you didn't attain all that you set out to do in 2023.  I want to encourage you to really sit with yourself and think about the things, situations or the thoughts that could be holding you back. Why were you not able to reach some of those promises you made to yourself? None of us are perfect and we all fall short each day, but if you keep doing the same thing year after year expecting different results that is insanity.  You have to BE the change you want to SEE in your life! I also want you to reflect on the things you did accomplish. Like I always say, we must celebrate our small wins too. Nothing is ever always bad, remember that!

Nissim Amon once said, "change your mind, change your life. Your reality will have no choice but to follow you." Isn't that something? Your REALITY will have no choice but to FOLLOW your changed MIND. If you are consistently working at the promises you made to yourself, you will most likely succeed in that area of your life.  Les Brown once said, "there is nothing more powerful than a change of mind."  All you have to do is make the change and stick to it.  Will you fall off?  Of course, you will,  but you get right back up and do it again.  Life is happening for all of us, and time waits for no one.  So do what you need to do to keep yourself in line with your goals and or resolutions.

I appreciate every last one of you who took the time to read my weekly blog posts and I hope that while I reveal my life and continue to heal through my writing, that you were able to find clarity or even assistance for a situation in your life. There is so much more I want to say, but this next book I am writing will blow your mind for sure.

I wish you the happiest of new years as we bid goodbye to 2023 and look forward to the possibilities of 2024. I hope you will reset your mind by midnight tonight so that you can achieve all your dreams and have more in the new year. Cheers to more in 2024!

Sending you love, light and positive vibes,

Cassie K.

This is the definition of why I chose "Ascended Reality" as my group name. We are graced with the gift of the mind, which has the power to ascend reality.
