30 for 30

When you hear the phrase 30 for 30, what usually comes to mind is sports, mainly basketball, or maybe the ESPN documentary series that highlights significant moments in athletes’ careers.

But today, I want to talk about a different kind of 30 for 30: 30 people and 30 gifts leading up to my daughter Olivia’s 30th birthday, which is tomorrow.

This beautiful idea came together thanks to her sister Sienna and her friend Antwonette, who invited me to help coordinate the gifts and deliver them each night.

Over the past 30 days, every evening, my daughter has received a card or a present along with a handwritten note from someone special in her life, reminding her of the impact she’s had not only in their lives but in the lives of so many others. Each gift she received, was thoughtful and, more often than not, something she had already wanted but hadn’t had the time to get for herself. That’s how God works, He blesses you when you bless others. It’s the art of reciprocation. Olivia has blessed so many people over the years.

To my beautiful daughter Olivia, I am so honored to call you my daughter. I hope that over these past 30 days, you’ve been able to see and feel just how deeply loved and appreciated you are by so many. You are a true blessing through and through. You have a heart of pure gold, and anyone who has the privilege of experiencing you leaves feeling touched by an angel. Never stop being the amazing woman you are. I speak nothing but God’s abundant blessings and favor over this next season of your life. May it be everything you need, want, and more. I LOVE YOU BABYGIRL!
