LIVE FOR TODAY!

So many times, we think we have more time than we do. We hustle and hustle and never stop to smell the roses. It’s all about getting to the bag and we forget to pause and reflect on what the day has brought us.  So many people didn’t wake up today, but you did and why are you mad about it? According to a google search, 150,000 people die a day globally, but you weren't one of them. Okay you are inundated with bills and the cost of living has gone up, but your money has not. You can still make the best of it if you choose to.

God never said life would be easy, but he did say he would be with us every step of the way. The bible says in Isaiah 41:10 says, don't be afraid, I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will hold you up with the right hand of my righteousness.  God said it, so He will do it. Each day we are blessed with is an opportunity to have a new experience. What did you do differently today than yesterday? Or are you stuck in a vicious cycle of repeating the same things over and over again? You expect different results but never do anything about it, which is insanity. If I want to meet people like I do, you need to leave the comfort of your home.

Last year I did a lot of traveling. Did I always have the money for it? Nope. But for me it wasn’t about the money, it was about the experience and the beautiful people that I met along the way. There is so much more to life than in your neighborhood! This year I have to fall back on a lot of traveling out of my state because I need to revamp some things and have to take care of some responsibilities.  So instead of traveling out of my state, I decided to find things to do in my city or the surrounding cities. Changing up my scenery, experiencing different things, and meeting new people.  I started writing poetry again and decided to perform it at an open mic and let me just say it was very liberating and fulfilling. Being a part of that safe space and a community where I can share openly and honestly without judgement is a beautiful thing.  If you are ever in the Seattle area, check out a place called A Space Inside, you will not be disappointed.  I signed up to be a mentor last year for an organization called (Y-We) and I have met some beautiful women who we have become friends with as we have some of the same interests in giving back to young girls in our community. I have created solid connections with amazing people. Living on purpose should be a priority in your life and I challenge you to do something different for you each month.

Life is what you make of it. We all have issues and problems but it’s up to us if we want to let those things hold us back or are we going to keep pressing ahead. I don’t ever want to come to the end of my life and think I could have, should have, or would have. I want to say that I did everything I could do to experience as much as I could in this world. Even with limited resources there are so many ways to connect with the outside world.  Check in your area and see what things you can do for free. You can also utilize social media and link up with like-minded people in your area. I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and live for today and don't forget to stop and smell the roses! Breathing in all the endless possibilities is breathtaking.

Sending you love, light and positive vibes,

Cassie K.
