Time waits for No One!

I lost my uncle two weeks ago. A man whose laughter could fill a room, and who told stories like no other. He was the life of every party and it didn't matter what he may have been going through in that moment, he always lifted others spirits. In the words of my uncle Pookie, he always kept it "Sucka Free!"
Isn't it funny how time can feel both endless and fleeting at the same time? One moment, you think you have all the tomorrows in the world to call, to visit, to say, "I'll see you next week." The next moment, tomorrow is gone. I know for a fact my uncle didn't think he would close his eyes and not wake up the next day. What brings me peace is he passed away peacefully in his sleep. I believe in my heart it was a pain free transition.
We live in a world where it is so easy to postpone the simplest things — that lunch date, that phone call or text, those kind words we meant to say. Why do we always think we have more time? We wait until it's a "better time". There is no better time than now because time waits for no one. Time is our most precious commodity and we need to utilize it wisely.
Losing my uncle has reminded me that we can't keep our LOVE in the "later" pile. We need to hug people a little tighter, answer the phone when we get a call, even if it's to tell the person calling we will call them right back. Send those messages telling your loved ones that you love them, even if you already said it the day before.
At the end of the day, we don't get to decide how much time we have left on this physical earth. We only get to decide what we do with it. So my question to you is this, what are you doing with your time?
Rest in power Uncle Pookie. Say hello to everyone for me. You will be missed more than the words I can say or type. Love you to the moon and back.
Sending you ALL love and light and positive vibes,
Cassie K.
