Trust in God's Timing!

As someone with big faith, I often hear the words, “Trust in God’s timing.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

I have always believed that to be true. But believing it and living it are two very different things and

this week, my faith was tested.

After 18 years with the same company, I was laid off. It came completely out of left field. At 7:30 in the morning, I received a text from my boss asking me to join a Teams call at 8:30. Immediately, something in my spirit said, this isn’t right. I told myself, "Brace yourself."

And I was right.

Six of us lost our jobs that day. It had nothing to do with performance. It was simply a lack of work in the department. I was told the decision was based on seniority, yet others with far less time at the company remained. It just didn’t make sense to me. And if I’m honest, it didn’t feel fair. Not one bit.

For a couple of days, I sat in a fog. I was shocked, disappointed and confused. Eighteen years is a long time. That job wasn’t just a paycheck — it was familiarity, routine, identity.

But once the fog began to lift, I did what I always do: I shared my heart. I posted a video on my social media platforms, and the response overwhelmed me. Hundreds of messages poured in with encouragement, prayers, and love.

And almost every single one carried the same message: Trust God’s timing.

“He knows what’s best for you.”

“He can see what you can’t.”

“This is redirection, not rejection.”

Then I told my kids. My oldest son looked at me and said something that stopped me in my tracks:

“Mom, God knew you were never going to leave that job, so He had to do it for you. He has something better.” Out of the mouths of our children we receive blessings.

The truth is, sometimes we get comfortable. Sometimes we outgrow seasons we’re too afraid to leave. Sometimes God has to close a door we would have kept knocking on forever.

It’s hard. Especially when so many others are walking through the same valley with me. I’ve heard from women who were laid off after 20+ years. Women who gave their loyalty, their time, their energy — only to find themselves starting over.

But what if this isn’t an ending? What if it’s alignment? What if the thing that feels like loss is actually divine repositioning?

Faith doesn’t mean we won’t feel disappointment. It means we choose to believe that God is still working even when we don’t understand the process.

Right now, I don’t know exactly what’s next. But I know this:

God has never failed me. And He’s not about to start now.

For those of you reading this, maybe you are in a season of unexpected change — a layoff, a breakup, a closed door, or a dream that feels delayed — I want to remind you:

This is not the end of your story!

You may not understand it, or like it. Most likely you did not chose it. But you can trust that God sees what you can't

If this message spoke to you, I invite you to lean into faith instead of fear. Pray boldly and dream again. Take one small step forward — even if you can’t see the whole staircase.

And if you’re walking through a season of uncertainty, share this with someone who needs the reminder — or leave a comment and tell me what you’re trusting God for right now. Let’s encourage each other.

Because sometimes trusting God’s timing isn’t about having all the answers.

It’s about believing the Author of your story is still writing something beautiful.

Sending you love, light and positive vibes,

Cassie K.
